In 2008, I volunteered to assist a Virginia Beach couple with their 6 year old autistic child. That first day with him was the beginning of my journey and later founding SFC Missions Ltd.
It led me to volunteering for other organizations and churches which provided programs for autistic children. I desired to equip and prepare them for similar opportunities as their general education peers.
Furthermore, it allowed me to find out other resources that many parents felt were missing. I kept hearing that there were not enough after school programs for their children. Many years later, there are more programs. Still, not as many as there are public schools.
So, I furthered my education to seek and complete my Master’s in Education after receiving a bachelor’s in Christian leadership and Business. The master’s program centered around teaching intellectually and emotionally challenged students which is the field I actively work in.
Now, we are a non profit outreach organization offering our free program to autistic and emotional behavioral teens. However we cannot do this alone. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes volunteers and contributions to keep our program free for our youth. Thank you in advance for your support.
